Cornell University student Patrick Dai is accused of making online threats against the school's Jewish community.
David Bauder/APAfter the threats were posted Sunday, Cornell University police ramped up patrols and increased security for Jewish students and organizations, the agency said.
At Cornell, Jewish students make up about 22% of the student body, with about 3,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate Jewish students, according to the school’s Hillel organization.
“Jewish students on campus right now are unbelievably terrified for their lives,” Molly Goldstein, co-president of the Cornell Center for Jewish Living, told CNN.
“The virulence and destructiveness of antisemitism is real and deeply impacting our Jewish students, faculty and staff, as well as the entire Cornell community.
